Residence Permit and Address Card
While you stay in Hungary, you are required to have a residence permit, and an address card. It is important to get them as soon as possible. You can get yours at the Immigration Office. Below you can read more about how to obtain them, and what steps you need to take, depending on your country on origin and scholarship.

Depending on where you are from, you have strict deadlines to register at the Immigration Office. Here is how to do it.
New students
If you are transferring from a different university or you would like to renew your residence permit, please follow these steps and start the renewal procedure 45-50 days prior to the expiration date.
Transfer students and renewal
Whenever you move to a different place, you have to report it to the Immigration Office within 3 workdays after your move!
Address card update and application
In case your Residence Permit is lost or stolen, you will have to report it to the police and apply for a new one at the Immigration Office.
