Private insurance

From September 2026, the healthcare service provider of BME is Semmelweis Premium Medical Services and Consulting Ltd. The service is available free of charge to international scholarship students who meet all three of the following conditions:

1. Active student status in the 2026 fall semester.
2. Valid SH, DFP or SYCP scholarship status in the 2026 fall semester.
3. A submitted Neptun request titled “914 Declaration for the Purpose of Healthcare Services”. (You MUST log in to Neptun in English to submit the request in English. Please change the language to English before you log in.)

Once you have fulfilled all these requirements and submitted the Neptun request, the Stipendium Hungaricum Institutional Coordinator office will send information about you to the healthcare provider.

Please note that by submitting the request, you will be eligible for the service until 31 January 2027, and you must submit a new request for the 2027 spring semester. We will send you information about this in January 2027.

The university provides private health insurance. They can book you with English-speaking doctors who can prescribe the right treatment or refer you to specialists, all without any additional cost. Please be aware that the call centre can be a bit busy at times, but still, they should be your primary contact whenever you are in need of medical assistance. Keep calling them until they answer your needs!
